This is the pair: cam belt covers for both the horizontal and the vertical cylinder of the 1262 Testastretta DVT. Ducati's L-twin puts these covers at two very different angles, and both are visible — the forward one from the side, the rear one from above when you sit on the motorcycle. Replacing one without the other is the mistake people regret.

Matching Matters on a Pair
Carbon is not a uniform-looking material. Weave alignment, resin distribution and the angle at which light hits the surface all vary slightly between production batches, and two covers bought a year apart can read differently even in the same specification. Bought as a set, they come from the same run and match.
That is not an argument that applies to a chain guard or a fender, where nothing sits alongside for comparison. Here the two covers are separated by about thirty centimetres of engine and are seen together constantly, which is exactly the situation where a mismatch is obvious.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, 2016 to 2024, both cylinders. Fit with the engine cold, using the original fasteners.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes no ABE or EC type-approval for this set. These are engine trim parts with no effect on any approved characteristic; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Timing Belt Service Is Not Affected
A reasonable worry about carbon engine covers is whether they complicate the service schedule. They do not. The set uses the original fixing pattern and the original fastener type, and the covers come away exactly as the standard ones do during a timing belt inspection or replacement.
The only practical difference is that carbon is less forgiving of over-torqued fasteners than the original plastic. Use the workshop figure rather than judgement, particularly on refitting after a service done by someone who does not know the covers are carbon.
