Belts Are Part of Owning This Engine
The Testastretta 11 degree drives its cams by rubber toothed belt, and Ducati sets a replacement interval for them. That is not a flaw, it is how the engine is built, and it means these covers come off the bike on a schedule rather than only when something breaks.
A belt that loses teeth does not fail gently on a desmodromic engine. What the covers keep out is exactly what causes that: a stone off the road, grit packed into the pulley teeth, water where there should be none.
Two Numbers, and the Difference Is Not Documented
Fullsix catalogues this set and, separately, a single horizontal cover with a different shape that it also lists for the Streetfighter 848 and 1100. Whether that part is an alternative to one half of this set or something that sits alongside it is not stated anywhere we can find.
For a 950 this set is the straightforward answer: two covers, both cylinders, one order. If you are looking at the other number as well, ask us first and we will put the question to the manufacturer.

With both covers off you have a clear view of the belts. Take it: look between the teeth for fine cracks and find out when they were last renewed.
Going back on, tighten across the pattern rather than round it, and turn the engine over by hand once before anything else.
