DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati drives the camshafts on this engine with toothed belts, and the belts run behind covers on the outside of each cylinder head. These are those covers, in carbon, as a matched pair.
Key Features
- Cam belt covers for both cylinders, matched set
- 200 Plain or 245 Twill weave, clear coat, matt or satin
- Autoclave-cured laminate, both covers from one production run
- Original mounting points, original fasteners
- Comes off and back on at every belt service
These Come Off Regularly
Cam belts are a scheduled service item on this engine, and these covers have to be removed to reach them. That makes them the carbon parts on the bike that get handled most often.
It also makes the mounting detail matter more than the finish. A cover that has been on and off five times should still sit flush, and that depends on how the fastener bosses are laminated rather than on the clear coat.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Monster 1200, model years 2014 to 2020, on the original mounts. Unchanged across the 2017 facelift. Tell your workshop the covers are carbon before a belt service.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. They are covers over an existing enclosure — confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
What the Covers Are Keeping Out
A cam belt fails from contamination and from age, not usually from load. Grit that finds its way behind a cover gets dragged between belt and pulley, and the damage accumulates invisibly until an inspection finds it.
The covers are not decorative for that reason: a missing or badly fitting one shortens a service item that is expensive to replace and serious when it lets go. Fit them properly or leave the originals on.
