The hub is machined from 6082 T6 aluminium, providing the stiffness and dimensional accuracy required to maintain precise bearing location and brake disc alignment. The result is a wheel that does not flex under hard braking or high-speed cornering loads, translating rider input directly into tyre contact-patch behaviour.

The CRBNX technology used in the rim section allows BST to achieve the tyre-bead seat tolerances demanded by tubeless fitment, removing any concern about air retention that early carbon wheels once carried. The 90° valve angle is engineered specifically for ultra-high-speed use, ensuring the valve seat maintains integrity under the centrifugal forces generated at track speeds.

Tested to a Higher Standard

BST subjects every Star Tek wheel to a comprehensive validation programme before it reaches the customer. Bending and torsion fatigue tests run to one million cycles; radial load endurance testing covers 6,000 km of simulated use; radial impact testing confirms residual air pressure is maintained after a kerb or pothole strike. Load ratings for the rear wheel are published openly: 280 kg static load, 420 kg radial impact load to JASO T203-85, 452 Nm bending fatigue load and 923 Nm torsion fatigue load. Every finished wheel then passes through a 100% CT scan and individual inspection — not a batch sample, every single unit.

Finish Options

The standard finish is a gloss clear-coated natural carbon weave. For riders who want a different aesthetic, BST offers a satin finish, a matte finish, a Forged-Carbon finish, six Solid colours (white, red, blue, green, orange, silver) and seven Candy colours (green, purple-blue, gold, orange, red, blue) as options at the point of order. Bearing choice is also configurable: steel bearings suit everyday road use and represent the cost-effective choice, while ceramic bearings reduce friction further for those who demand every marginal gain on track.
