The rim is constructed from pre-preg carbon fibre — the same autoclave-cured process used in aerospace and Formula 1 — delivering a rigidity-to-weight ratio that spun aluminium simply cannot approach. The hub is machined from 6082 T6 aluminium billet, chosen for its excellent strength-to-weight characteristics and long fatigue life under the cyclical loads a modern superbike generates. Titanium Grade 5 fasteners complete the package, eliminating the hidden weight penalty of standard steel hardware at every bolt interface.
The carbon fibre inner spacer is a detail that separates the GP TEK from cheaper carbon alternatives: it keeps bearing preload consistent across thermal cycles and further trims rotational inertia where it matters most. Load ratings confirm the wheel's suitability for the demands of serious track work — 283 kg radial load, 250 kg static load, 720 Nm cornering load and 1,043 Nm torsional load.
