DescriptionThe whole story▼
The EVO version of Bonamici's lever protection adds one thing the standard guard does not have: the distance between guard and lever can be set, across a range of plus ten to minus ten millimetres. That sounds minor until you have ridden with a guard sitting exactly where your little finger wants to be. This is the clutch-side EVO guard for the ZX-10R, supplied with the ADLZX_U adapter.
Key Features
- Adjustable lever distance, +10 mm to -10 mm, so the guard can be set clear of your hand rather than accepted where it lands.
- Left-hand clutch side; the brake side is a separate part number.
- Includes the ADLZX_U adapter, the carbon and EVO mount Bonamici specifies for the ZX-10R.
- Eight anodised colours to choose from.
- Machined from solid high-strength aluminium and anodised. Made in Italy.
Twenty Millimetres of Adjustment Is Not Cosmetic
Hand size varies more than any other rider dimension, and a lever guard occupies the space at the end of the bar where a large hand naturally sits. Fixed guards force the compromise onto the rider: either the little finger rides against the guard, or the grip moves inboard. Being able to move the guard instead keeps the hand where it belongs and stops the rider noticing the part at all — which is what a good guard should do.
EVO Versus Standard
Bonamici keeps both in the range because they answer different budgets. The standard guard does the safety job completely and costs considerably less. The EVO adds adjustment and a different adapter family. If the bike is shared between riders of different builds, or if you have tried a fixed guard and disliked where it sat, the EVO earns the difference.
Fitment and Compatibility

Note that EVO guards take the ADLZX_U adapter, not the ADLZX used by the standard guards. The two are not interchangeable.
Road Approval
No ABE or EC type-approval is published for this guard or its adapter.
