DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a ZX-10RR the instrument cluster is doing more work than on any other Kawasaki. It is where the rider reads lap times, where the traction and engine-brake settings are confirmed between sessions, and where a race-kit ECU reports back. Losing it in a gravel trap costs a weekend, not just money. DCP28 is the cluster guard Bonamici Racing has developed for the 2026 homologation model, launching on 21 September 2026.
Key Features
- Machined for the 2026 ZX-10RR dash specifically; the binnacle changed with this model year and earlier guards do not locate correctly.
- Acts as a sacrificial screen in front of the display, absorbing stone strikes and slide damage that would otherwise land on the cluster itself.
- Mounts to the standard dash surround — no drilling, no bonding, and removable before a technical inspection if a series requires it.
- From a manufacturer supplying dash protection to teams across Italian and international championships.
- Quote part number DCP28 when ordering for a 2026 machine.
A Race Weekend Runs on the Display
Between sessions an RR rider is reading the dash as much as riding by feel: sector times, the selected power map, how much engine braking is dialled in. A scratched or crazed screen turns that into guesswork in the one part of the day when there is no time for guesswork. The guard keeps the surface clean through the abrasive part of the season, and when it is finally marked it is the guard that gets replaced.
Crash Damage Is Rarely Isolated
A low-side that takes out fairings and levers almost always touches the cockpit as well. The cluster is the most expensive thing up there and the slowest to source, because a replacement usually has to be coded to the bike. Fitting a guard beforehand does not prevent a crash, but it removes one of the two or three items most likely to turn a repairable weekend into a written-off one.
