DescriptionThe whole story▼
Lever guards started as a rule and became a habit. After a series of incidents where one rider's hand found another's lever mid-corner, governing bodies made them compulsory; riders then discovered they also stop a lever being snapped off in an ordinary paddock tip-over. This is Bonamici Racing's clutch-side guard for the ZX-10R, supplied here with the ADLZX adapter the bike requires.
Key Features
- Clutch side, left hand. The brake-side equivalent is a separate part — most riders fit both, but the sides are sold individually.
- Supplied complete with the ADLZX adapter for the ZX-10R, so there is nothing further to order and no risk of buying the wrong mount.
- Eight anodised colours: black, silver, gold, orange, green, blue, red and bronze, with the front peg available in contrasting shades.
- Machined from solid high-strength aluminium alloy.
- Anodised against chemical attack from fuel and cleaners. Made in Italy.
Why the Adapter Matters More Than the Guard
The guard itself is close to universal; what makes it fit a specific motorcycle is the adapter that clamps to the lever perch. Bonamici sells the two separately because one guard serves dozens of bikes while every model needs its own bracket. Ordering them apart is where mistakes happen, which is why this listing pairs the guard with ADLZX — the adapter Bonamici specifies for the ZX-10R.
The Clutch Side Is Not an Afterthought
Riders who fit only one guard usually choose the brake side, on the reasoning that an accidental brake input is the dangerous one. That is true, but it ignores what actually breaks levers: paddock drops, pit-lane knocks and the bike falling onto its left in a low-side. A clutch lever snapped at the perch ends a day just as effectively as a brake lever, and it costs the same to replace.
Fitment and Compatibility
With the ADLZX adapter included here, this guard fits:
- Kawasaki ZX-10 R — model years 2021 through 2026
Bonamici also lists the ADLZX adapter for earlier ZX-10R generations and for the ZX-6R; ask us if you need a different pairing.
Road Approval
No ABE or EC type-approval is published for this guard. Lever protection is not usually contested at a German inspection, but Bonamici supplies no documentation with it.
