DescriptionThe whole story▼
Blue bags rarely get lost in a pile of black luggage, and the Albek Skytrail 51 Duffel in Poseidon Blue is built for exactly the kind of trip where gear piles up: a long weekend of trail riding, a motocross race day or a flight to an adventure destination. Its 51 litres swallow a helmet plus riding clothes, and the bag weighs only 1.55 kg before you fill it.
Key Features
- Padded helmet compartment for full-face and open-face helmets
- Stowable backpack straps plus a detachable padded shoulder strap
- Tool and tech organiser, elastic pockets for gloves and small parts
- Luggage handle pass-thru for riding on top of a wheeled case
- MOLLE loops and quick-access external pockets
- Ventilated Anti Bag-Tang compartments against stale air and odour
- Aluminium alloy hardware, padded Albek Cush grab handles, 1.55 kg empty
- 51 L capacity in a compact 54 × 30 × 31 cm format
Two ways to carry
Most duffels force you to lug them like a sports bag. This one hides a pair of backpack straps in a dedicated pocket, so the Poseidon Blue Skytrail goes on your back when you hike from the parking area to the pits. Prefer a single strap? Clip on the padded shoulder strap, and take it off again when it would only get in the way. Travelling with a suitcase, you can slide the duffel over its handle using the pass-thru panel and push both through the terminal together.
Where everything goes
A padded helmet compartment accepts full-face as well as open-face lids and shields the visor from buckles and boots. Around it, several gear compartments and divided sections hold jersey, pants and spare layers apart. Elastic pockets are sized for gloves and small parts, the organiser for tools and tech takes chargers or tyre levers, and the external pockets give fast access to keys, passport or snacks without opening the main section.
Race day and weekend use
After a muddy moto or a wet descent, the ventilated Anti Bag-Tang compartments let sweaty kit air out until you get home, which helps against the typical bag smell. MOLLE loops on the shell take add-on pouches, so the blue duffel can grow with what the weekend demands.
Build quality
Albek pairs matte 600D Oxford with a tougher 1000D tarpaulin and uses aluminium alloy hardware. The Cush grab handles are padded, which makes a short carry with a heavy load easier on the fingers.
What you should know
There is no waterproof claim for this duffel, so do not rely on it to keep contents dry in heavy rain and pack electronics in a dry bag. Without wheels, the full weight is always on your hands, shoulder or back. An embroidery area is part of the design. Albek covers material and manufacturing faults for the first owner under its limited lifetime warranty, provided you keep the receipt.
Colour
Poseidon Blue brings a clear shot of colour to the paddock without being loud. It is easier to pick out on a luggage carousel or in the back of a crowded van than black, while the blue base still hides a fair amount of everyday grime. Dried mud will show more than on Covert Black, so a quick brush-off after the trip keeps it looking fresh.
