Wine-red Burgundy gives the Albek Skytrail 51 Duffel a warmer, more distinctive look than the usual black gear bag. Underneath sits the same practical concept: 51 litres of storage, a padded helmet pocket for full-face or open-face helmets and backpack straps that disappear when you do not need them.

Trip use
Albek designed the Skytrail with mountain bike trips, race days and weekend breaks in mind. In practice that means a bag that can hold a helmet, a set of riding clothes and a change for the evening, and that you can still carry up a hotel staircase on your back. At 1.55 kg empty, the Burgundy duffel does not eat much of a baggage allowance.
Storage layout
The interior is broken up into multiple gear compartments and divided sections rather than one big cavity. Elastic pockets keep gloves, a spare chain link or a headlamp in place, and an organiser for tools and electronics holds small hardware together. Outside, quick-access pockets save you from opening the main zip at every stop. Vented sections, which Albek calls Anti Bag-Tang, let used kit breathe.
Carry system
Handles, shoulder strap and backpack harness are all part of the package. The Albek Cush handles are padded for a comfortable grip, the detachable shoulder strap is padded too, and the rucksack straps tuck away when the bag goes in the boot. A pass-thru panel at the back lets the wine-red Skytrail ride on the handle of rolling luggage. MOLLE loops on the 600D Oxford and 1000D tarpaulin shell carry extra pouches, and the hardware is aluminium alloy.
What you should know
Albek makes no claim that the Skytrail keeps water out, so plan for rain with a liner or dry bag. It has no wheels, which keeps it light but means you always carry the load. You will find an embroidery zone for names or logos. The original buyer is protected by Albek's limited lifetime warranty for manufacturing and material defects when a receipt can be shown.
Colour
Burgundy is a deep wine red that stands out on the luggage belt yet still looks grown-up enough for a city weekend. Darker red forgives everyday marks reasonably well; pale dust and dried clay will show more clearly than on black, so a damp cloth after a muddy weekend is worth the minute it takes.
