DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Albek Hip Hauler is a 6.8-litre hip pack in Covert Black for enduro and adventure riders who want tools, spares and a drink on the waist instead of on the shoulders. It keeps a spare tube, tools and small kit within reach, has a waterproof pocket, and can take a hydration bladder if you add one.
Key Features
- 6.8 L of storage on a Zero-Slip hip belt
- Compatible with the Albek Lumbar 1.5 L bladder (sold separately)
- Tool compartment plus external tool attachment
- Dedicated pocket for a spare inner tube
- Waterproof pocket and drinks bottle pocket
- MOLLE loops and adjustable D-rings
- Non-slip ventilated back, 850 g
Tools and spares
A trailside repair usually needs three things fast: a tube, tyre levers and a few tools. The Hip Hauler gives the tube a pocket of its own, holds tools in a dedicated compartment and offers an external tool mount for bulkier items. Divided compartments stop everything from sliding into one heap, and the key holder keeps the ignition key from going missing.
Fit on the bike
Albek's Zero-Slip hip belt and the non-slip, ventilated back panel are designed to keep the pack in place, and according to Albek the pack does not slip while you ride. Adjustable D-rings and MOLLE loops let you hang extra pouches or a light jacket.
Drinking on the go
There is a pocket for a drinks bottle, and the Hip Hauler is also compatible with Albek's Lumbar 1.5 L hydration bladder. The bladder is not included, so plan for it separately if you prefer sipping through a hose.
Material and safety
The shell combines 600D Oxford fabric with 600D PU material, and the pack weighs 850 g empty. A waterproof pocket protects a phone or papers, and an emergency contact field lets you write down who to call if something goes wrong. The embroidery zone is available for your own name.
What you should know
Only the waterproof pocket is described as such, not the whole pack. Neither bladder nor tools are part of the delivery. Albek's own listing prints the size oddly; based on the inch figures it is roughly 15 × 17 × 68 cm including the belt. The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the first buyer with proof of purchase against material and workmanship defects.
Colour
Covert Black is the sensible choice for a pack that lives near chain spray, mud and workshop grease. Dirt and oil spots are hard to see on black, and the pack goes with any riding kit colour.
