DescriptionThe whole story▼
Race preparation is mostly about small decisions made over a weekend, and brake material is one of them. The Accossato AGPA92 rear pad in the ZXC ceramic racing compound gives owners of a competition-prepared Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE, model years 2019 to 2024, another option to test. It sits with Accossato's racing materials and is meant for closed courses, where the team can compare rear brake behaviour from session to session and settle on what works for the rider and the circuit.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing compound, article number AGPA92ZXC
- For the rear caliper of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE, 2019 to 2024
- Intended for racing and closed-circuit work
- Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- One box, two pads, one rear caliper
- Also made as OR, ST, EV1 and EV2
Construction and Material Quality
ZXC is Accossato's ceramic entry. The manufacturer describes it simply as a ceramic mixture that suits racing well, and publishes no further detail, so we will not invent any. Like the rest of the range, it follows Accossato's aims of long life, modest heat and the fade resistance that comes with it, and strong stopping. What distinguishes a ceramic racing compound in practice is how it feels once the rider has adapted to it, which is why a weekend of testing tells more than a data sheet.
A Weekend with a Notebook
Teams that change brake material do it methodically. Fit the ZXC set on Friday, bed it in during a practice run and write down pedal feel, lock-up tendency on the brakes into the tightest corner and how the pad looks after the session. Saturday brings refinements, perhaps a change in lever or pedal position, and by Sunday the rider should know whether the ceramic material suits the Scrambler 1200 XE. Keep the old set in the toolbox until you are certain.
In the Pit Box
Clean the caliper pistons before pushing them back, fit the pads, pump the pedal until it is firm and check that the wheel spins freely. Make sure no cleaning product remains on the disc.
Fitment and Compatibility
According to Accossato, the AGPA92 fits the rear of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE from 2019 to 2024, the only version named in the list. One rear caliper means one box does the job. The DK203 disc is also listed for this bike. The same pad shape comes in the OR, ST, EV1 and EV2 materials.
Road Approval
No ABE or equivalent road document for the ZXC pad has been supplied to us. We offer it for competition and circuit riding.
Scope of Delivery
