DescriptionThe whole story▼
When an MV Agusta Rush 1000 is prepared for track work, the rear brake needs the same attention as the front. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA42ZXC, is catalogued for the Rush 1000 in 2020, which the maker lists as the Rush 1000 RR. It is designed for competition use on a four-cylinder machine that carries a lot of speed into corners and needs precise rear control to stay settled.
Key Features
- AGPA42ZXC rear pad set for the MV Agusta Rush 1000
- Accossato listing: 2020, as Rush 1000 RR
- ZXC ceramic racing mixture, ideal for racing according to the maker
- For fine rear input on corner entry
- Matches a track-focused front setup
- Plate also produced as OR and ST
- Competition use; no German approval papers
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing and publishes nothing beyond that about its composition, so we do not add claims of our own. The purpose is a rear pad that keeps working under the loads of circuit riding on a fast, heavy four-cylinder. Accossato's general claims of slow wear, strong stopping power and a pad that holds back fade by limiting heat apply here too. The ceramic friction layer is carried on the AGPA42 backing plate.
Settling a Big Naked on Corner Entry
A long, powerful naked like the Rush can feel busy at the rear when the rider brakes hard and downshifts at the same time. A light touch on the rear brake helps keep the chassis calm while the front does the heavy work, and on a bike set up for racing that touch should feel the same in every session.
After a track day, remove the rear wheel or at least look through the caliper to check pad wear. Clean the piston before pushing it back and make sure the pedal returns freely before the next outing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA42 for the rear of the MV Agusta Rush 1000 in 2020 only, under the Rush 1000 RR name; check the old pad against the new one on later bikes. The front of the Rush takes AGPA106, listed for 2020 to 2025, and no Accossato disc is offered for it. The single rear caliper needs one box.
Road Approval
Without an ABE or German approval mark on file, AGPA42ZXC is sold for racing and competition purposes.
