DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a race-prepared MV Agusta Brutale 800, the rear pad should share the competition focus of the front. This ZXC ceramic racing rear set fits the Brutale 800 family from 2013 to 2025 and is meant for track machines ridden by people who use the rear brake to settle the bike into corners.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing rear pads for the Brutale 800 range
- 2013 to 2025, by version
- Ceramic compound ideal for racing, per Accossato
- Matches a competition front setup
- For riders who use the rear on corner entry
- One box for the rear caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of ZXC is a ceramic compound ideal for racing. On the rear of a race bike, that means a pad chosen with the same purpose as the front. Across its range, the maker aims for long life, reduced fade through controlled heat and strong stopping power.
Rear Brake at Race Pace
Fast riders often trail the rear brake lightly into a corner to calm the chassis, particularly on a short three-cylinder naked. That use comes in brief, precise bursts. The ceramic ZXC set is meant for that role. It keeps the rear in line with a racing front setup. For road use the OR or ST version of this rear pad fits better. Some riders barely touch the rear on track, others lean on it heavily at slow hairpins; the pad should cope with both styles without the pedal feel wandering during a session.
Between Sessions
On a converted Brutale 800, rear pads often wear at a different rate from one side to the other, so pull the caliper during the lunch break and look at both. Chain lube spray can drift onto the rear disc on a race bike, so wipe it with a clean cloth and a suitable cleaner. Bleeding the rear before a meeting is quick and worthwhile if the pedal has gone soft.
Fitment and Compatibility
Race bikes built on any Brutale 800 base can use this rear shape, as Accossato lists it for the naked of 2013–2020, the RC of 2018–2020, the Rosso from 2020 and both Dragsters, the standard version of 2015–2019 and the RC catalogued from 2017 to 2025. On a converted track machine, confirm that the rear caliper is still the one MV Agusta fitted, since some race builds swap it. The front of the bike uses AGPA96, available in racing compounds as well. One box covers the rear.
Road Approval
No ABE, test mark or other approval is available for these pads. They are intended for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
Two ceramic-compound rear pads in one box. No fitting hardware.
