DescriptionThe whole story▼
Scramblers turn up at more track events than one might think, from open track days to twin-cylinder club races. For a Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 of 2018 that is used this way, Accossato makes the AGPA42 rear pad in ZXC ceramic racing. It is designed for competition, where the rear brake is used precisely and sometimes very hard, and where the pads must stay stable when hot.
Key Features
- AGPA42 rear pads for the Moto Morini Scrambler 1200, 2018
- ZXC ceramic racing compound, item AGPA42ZXC
- Accossato: ceramic compound developed for racing
- Stable bite on tight, technical circuits
- Resists fading in long sessions
- For club racing and competition
- Two pads for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing. The pad is designed to work at the temperatures reached on the circuit and to keep a stable response during a session. Like all Accossato compounds, it is intended to wear slowly and to limit heat in the pad.
Tight Circuits and Hairpins
On a short, twisty circuit, a scrambler spends much of the lap braking into slow corners. The front does most of the work, but the rear brake has an important role on the Scrambler 1200: it helps the bike turn in by settling the rear and keeps it stable when the rider brakes deep into a hairpin. On a tight track the rear is also used on the way out, to hold the front down when the big twin drives hard. The ZXC ceramic racing compound is designed to give precise, consistent response in these situations. Warm the pads up gradually at the start of a session and check pad thickness after each outing. Keep the disc clean and dry, as any oil from the chain area will reduce grip.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA42 for the rear of the Moto Morini Scrambler 1200 in 2018 only. No Accossato front pad or disc for this model is in our listing. For road use in all weathers, the plate is also made as Sintered (ST). One box covers the rear caliper.
Road Approval
AGPA42ZXC is not covered by a German ABE, and we hold no test report. It is supplied for track racing.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic rear pads in one box for one caliper.
