DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a KTM RC8 R 1190 prepared for racing, the rear brake is used differently than on the road: it helps the bike turn, trims the entry speed and calms the rear under hard deceleration. Accossato offers the AGPA42 rear pad in its ZXC ceramic racing mixture for this role. It fits the RC8 R from 2009 to 2015 and is meant for racers who want the rear set to match a ceramic setup at the front.
Key Features
- Rear pads AGPA42 for the KTM RC8 R 1190, 2009 to 2015
- ZXC ceramic racing mixture, SKU AGPA42ZXC
- Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- Supports rear brake use in corner entry
- Lets front and rear run the same compound family
- One box equips the rear caliper
- Also produced as OR and ST
- No ABE on file; racing use
Construction and Material Quality
For ZXC, Accossato gives a short statement: it is a ceramic compound, and it is ideal for racing. We leave it at that and do not guess at its composition. The general claims the company makes for its pads also apply: slow wear, controlled heat build-up that keeps fading down, and high stopping force. The ceramic layer is bonded to the AGPA42 plate and fits the rear caliper of the RC8 R without changes.
The Rear Brake on Corner Entry
Many racers use a touch of rear brake on the way into a corner to settle the RC8 R and tighten its line, especially in slow sections after a long straight. The pedal is used lightly but precisely, and the rider needs to feel exactly when the rear starts to work. Matching the rear compound to the front helps the bike behave consistently from session to session.
At the track, check the rear pads during each pit stop, since a rear caliper close to the chain collects lube and dirt. Clean the piston before pushing it back, bleed the rear system if the pedal feels long, and make sure the pedal is firm before heading back out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA42 for the rear of the KTM RC8 R 1190 from 2009 to 2015, which includes the RC8 1190 R TRACK of 2011 to 2015. The front calipers of this RC8 R take AGPA106, and the DKS032 disc is listed too. The box covers the single rear caliper.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German approval documentation for AGPA42ZXC in our hands. Use is for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic rear pads, one caliper set.
