DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda RC213V-S was sold with the option of a sport kit for circuit use, and a handful of owners take theirs to closed tracks and demonstration events where it can run as its MotoGP ancestry intended. For that use, Accossato makes the AGPA42 rear pad in its ZXC ceramic racing mixture. It fits the rear caliper of the RC213V-S from 2016 to 2018 and is aimed at riders who spend their weekends in the paddock, with a mechanic, a stand and a timing screen.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Honda RC213V-S, 2016 to 2018
- Article AGPA42ZXC: the AGPA42 shape in ZXC ceramic compound
- Accossato calls it a ceramic compound made for racing
- Intended for circuit weekends and track events
- Suits riders who adjust set-up between sessions
- OR and ST versions are offered for road use
- Two pads in the box for the rear caliper
- Supplied for racing use; no ABE on file
Construction and Material Quality
ZXC is Accossato's ceramic racing compound, and the company describes it as ideal for racing and little else. It belongs on a circuit where the brakes work hard lap after lap. Accossato, founded in 1969 near Turin, also claims the general strengths of its pads for this version: limited wear, restrained heating that helps prevent fade, and high stopping power. The ceramic friction face is mounted on the AGPA42 plate.
Rear Brake Work in the Paddock
On track, the rear brake of the RC213V-S is used to stabilise the bike on corner entry and to tighten a line, not to haul it down from speed. Riders and their mechanics often experiment with pedal height and pad choice over a weekend, noting how the rear reacts in each session. A dedicated racing compound gives that work a clear reference, because it is built for the heat and repetition of circuit use.
Between sessions, check the rear pads for even wear and look at the disc for discolouration. Before the weekend, bleed the system with fresh fluid, clean the piston thoroughly before fitting new pads and pump the pedal until it is hard. Bed in the pads during the first laps of practice rather than going straight to full effort.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear of the Honda RC213V-S 1000 from 2016 to 2018. No other Accossato pad or disc appears for this model. The OR and ST versions of the same shape are better suited to road riding. Check the pads currently fitted against the product photos before ordering.
Road Approval
We have no ABE and no German test certificate for the AGPA42ZXC; it is a racing pad and is sold for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
You receive two AGPA42 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing mixture, a set for the rear caliper.
