Construction and Material Quality
Ceramic material in a rear caliper is a specialist request, and Accossato treats it as one by naming racing as its home. The rear of a Streetfighter V2 955 never sees the heat the front does, but it is asked for something fussier: a small, repeatable amount of retardation applied with a boot while the rider is busy with everything else. The AGPA42 carrier does not change, so the caliper keeps its familiar fit and only the surface against the disc is new. Accossato attributes limited heat build-up and slow wear to its pads generally, and at the back of the bike the second half of that is what an owner sees first.
A Light Foot on Corner Entry
The rear brake on a circuit is a steering aid more than a stopping device. Coming off a long straight the front is already loaded, and a light drag at the back stops the machine squirming as the gearbox is worked down. Through a slow hairpin the same touch holds the line while the throttle is picked up early. Because the inputs are small and constant rather than large and rare, what the rider is judging is not power but predictability under the boot.
Rear pads that are used this way want checking as often as the front ones, which is rarely what happens. Take a look between sessions rather than at the end of the weekend, keep cleaner and chain lubricant off the disc, and wipe the pistons before they go back into the caliper. Fit both pads together, bring the pedal back to a firm feel with a few presses, and give a new set some easy laps before the Streetfighter V2 955 is asked to do anything serious with it.

This rear article is listed by Accossato for the Streetfighter V2 955 built between 2022 and 2024, the same window as the AGPA177 at the sharp end, and nothing beyond it. A single rear caliper means a single box. The disc references recorded for this Ducati are the DK053 and the DKS035.
