On a circuit the rear brake is used in smaller doses than on the road, but it is used constantly: a touch on the way into a corner to stop the machine running wide, a steadying dab while the front is loaded, a firmer application on the slow lap back to the pits. Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear wheel of the Ducati Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2021 and offers it here in the ZXC ceramic racing material, article AGPA42ZXC, which the company describes as a ceramic mixture made for competition.

Construction and Material Quality
The factory line here runs to half a sentence: ceramic, for racing. Reporting that as it stands seems better than expanding it into something it does not say. What can be added is where the article sits, which is with Accossato's competition materials rather than with the ones drawn up for a commuter. The AGPA42 plate is the constant. Whichever compound arrives, the caliper sees the same backing, and the difference lives entirely at the surface that meets the disc.
Small Inputs at the Rear on Track
Riders coming to circuits from the road often find they have been neglecting the pedal. On a Monster 1200, with a tall first gear and a good deal of engine braking, a light rear application on corner entry keeps the machine from standing up and gives the rider something to work against while the front loads. It is a small input repeated at every corner of every lap, which adds up to a surprising amount of work for one caliper across a session.
That work shows up in ways people miss. Pedal travel grows as the day goes on, and it is easy to blame the material when the fluid has simply had a hard afternoon. The habit worth forming is to inspect the rear caliper before the final session rather than after it, with the wheel turned so that both pads can be seen, and to keep the disc free of chain lubricant, because at the back of a machine that is the commonest reason a fresh set never feels right.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list names the rear of the Monster 1200 from 2014 to 2021 for the AGPA42, and the single caliper there means one box finishes the job. The front of the same machine runs the AGPA177 over those seasons, or the AGPA106 in the case of the 25° Anniversario of 2019. The Accossato disc range covers this model with the DK053 and the DKS053. A bike from outside those years wants a lookup of its own rather than an assumption.
Road Approval
We have neither a German ABE nor a test document for the AGPA42ZXC, so the pads are supplied for racing and closed circuits.
