DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a circuit the rear brake becomes a tuning device. It settles the machine as the rider turns in, keeps the front from running wide when the throttle opens too early, and on a small bike it is used far more often than spectators imagine. Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear wheel of the CFMOTO 125NK of 2024, and this article number carries the ZXC ceramic racing compound, a ceramic material the company puts forward for racing.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the CFMOTO 125NK of the 2024 season
- AGPA42ZXC: the AGPA42 outline in the ZXC ceramic racing compound
- Accossato puts this ceramic material forward for racing
- One box contains the two pads a caliper needs
- Count the calipers on the rear wheel of your own machine
- The OR and ST materials are pressed in the same shape
- Accossato's front entry for the 125NK is the AGPA96, likewise 2024
- No German ABE in our records; for closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
Asking a ceramic race material to work at the rear of a 125NK is less odd than it sounds. The rear caliper on a small race bike does short, precise work all through a lap, and it does it while the machine is leaned over, which is when a surprise is least welcome. Accossato offers the ZXC ceramic racing compound for competition use, and at the back the quality that matters is the same as at the front: the pedal should mean the same thing in the last laps as it did in the first, so the rider can use a fraction of it without thinking about it.
Settling the Back End on a Short Circuit
Kart circuits and tight club tracks suit a 125 and they punish a nervous rear brake. The corners come one after another, first-gear hairpins alternate with fast kinks, and riders learn to drag the pedal lightly on the way in to stop the back of the machine skipping. Used like that the rear pads get no long rest, and they wear at a rate that surprises anyone used to road riding, where the pedal is barely touched.
Checks at the back therefore belong in the same routine as the front. Look at the material before the last session of the day rather than after it. Watch for a pedal sitting lower than usual, which usually means wear rather than air, and clean the pistons before pushing them back when a fresh pair goes in, since a race bike collects dust and rubber where a road bike collects only dirt. Spin the wheel on the stand afterwards and listen: a rear caliper that drags costs a 125NK speed it cannot spare.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA42 is Accossato's rear entry for the 125NK in 2024, and the list gives no other year for the model. Boxes are counted per caliper, and the pair inside goes in together. Riders building the whole brake system from one catalogue will find the AGPA96 at the front of the same machine in the same season; the Accossato disc range, however, holds nothing for the 125NK, so the original rear disc stays in place.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE for the AGPA42ZXC and no test report to pass on. It belongs to the racing side of the range and is sold for use on closed circuits.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA42 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, the pair for one caliper, in a single box.
