DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato makes front pad AGPA97 in five compounds and lists them all for the Yamaha Tracer 7 GT from 2021 to 2026, because the same pad fits many Yamahas. ZXC is the ceramic racing mix among them. It is a specialist choice for a GT that no longer tours but runs on closed circuits, where the rider wants to compare pad options and fine-tune the brakes across a weekend of sessions.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing compound
- Catalogued for the Yamaha Tracer 7 GT, 2021-2026
- Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- For riders who compare pads during practice
- Not intended for touring use
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Road choices: OR, ST, EV1; race alternative EV2
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. No further details are published, and we do not add any. The general claims Accossato makes for its pads, long life, reduced fade through controlled heat and strong braking, are passed on as the company's statements. The company is based today in Villastellone near Turin.
A Circuit GT
It is rare to see a Tracer 7 GT on a race track, but some riders enjoy taking an unexpected bike to a closed-course event. For them, pad choice becomes part of the setup, alongside tyre pressures and suspension clickers. Trying EV2 in one session and ZXC in another, on the same tyres, gives a direct comparison of lever travel and consistency. Record the results. For touring, commuting or weekend rides, ZXC is the wrong compound; ST or EV1 fit much better. A converted tourer also brings its own quirks to the circuit, such as a softer fork and a taller stance than a sports bike, so changes to the brakes should be made one at a time and judged over several laps before drawing conclusions.
In the Paddock
Carry spare pads, sealed fluid and brake cleaner. Inspect the pads and discs after every outing and keep the fluid fresh.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the TRACER 7 700 GT from 2021 to 2026. Two front calipers mean two boxes for a full set. For the rear, Accossato lists AGPP88 for 2021 to 2024.
Road Approval
For AGPA97ZXC there is no ABE and no test report in our hands; it is sold for competition use on closed circuits.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic racing AGPA97 pads, enough for one front caliper of the Tracer 7 GT.
