DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato lists its ZXC ceramic racing compound for front pad AGPA97, and because that pad fits the Yamaha Tracer 7 from 2016 to 2026, the race version appears in the list too. We will be clear: ZXC is a specialist race compound, and it only belongs on a Tracer 7 that is used on closed circuits. For riders who have built such a bike and want to test pad options across a race weekend, it is an option worth considering.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing compound
- Listed for the Yamaha Tracer 7, 2016-2026
- Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- For riders who compare compounds on track
- Not intended for commuting or touring
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Also offered as OR, ST, EV1, EV2
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound that it considers ideal for racing. There are no further published details, and we will not add any. Accossato's general claims for its pads, slow wear, reduced fade and strong stopping power, are passed on as its own statements rather than as figures we have verified.
Testing Pads on a Track Tracer
A Tracer 7 converted for circuit use is unusual, and whoever builds one usually treats pad choice as part of the setup. A useful method is to run EV2 in one practice and ZXC in another on the same tyres, then compare lever travel, consistency and wear. Note the results. If the bike still carries its luggage mounts and gets ridden to work, ST or EV1 are the practical choices. A race compound on a road bike is a compromise that nobody needs, while on a genuine circuit machine it lets the rider explore the limits of the chassis with brakes designed for exactly that heat and load.
Paddock Checklist
Spare pads, sealed brake fluid and cleaner belong in the van. Check pads and discs after each outing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the Yamaha Tracer 7 from 2016 to 2026. There are two front calipers, so two boxes are required. For the rear, Accossato gives AGPP88 for 2016 to 2024.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or test documents for AGPA97ZXC, which is sold only for racing and circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic racing pads, AGPA97, for one front caliper of the Tracer 7.
