DescriptionThe whole story▼
ZXC is Accossato's ceramic racing compound, described by the company as ideal for racing, and it is available for the AGPA243 front pad of the Yamaha MT-03 from 2016 to 2026. It is meant for an MT-03 that has been turned into a track machine, whether for a small-capacity racing class or regular circuit sessions. For a road bike, other compounds in the AGPA243 family are the right choice.
Key Features
- Accossato AGPA243 front pad, ZXC ceramic racing compound
- For the Yamaha MT-03, 2016-2026
- Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- For small-capacity racing and circuit sessions
- Not intended for everyday road use
- Two pads per box for the single front caliper
- Also offered as OR, ST and EV1
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes ZXC simply as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. It shares the company's general aims of slow wear, controlled heat to limit fade and strong stopping. Accossato does not publish further details of the mix, so we make no claims beyond that. The company, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri, has been making motorcycle parts near Turin ever since.
Racing a Lightweight Twin
In small-capacity racing, lap times are made by carrying speed, and the brakes are used precisely rather than violently. That makes lever feel and consistency just as important as outright bite. A ceramic racing pad like ZXC gives an MT-03 track bike another option to test. Run it in practice, note how it feels on the brakes into the slowest corner and whether the bite stays the same over a long session, and inspect the pads in the pit box. With a single front disc, the pad has to do all the work at the front, so keep an eye on the fluid too. For road use, choose OR or ST instead.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA243 for the front of the MT-03 from 2016 to 2026, with AGPP254 for the rear and the DK077 and DKS073 discs. With one front caliper, one box is enough. Clean the pistons before retracting them, pump the lever until solid and bed the pads in during the first laps with progressively harder stops.
Road Approval
No ABE or Prüfzeichen is held for AGPA243ZXC; it is sold for racing use.
