DescriptionThe whole story▼
Racers who run a Triumph Street Triple 675 R in club events tend to experiment with every part that affects lap time, and brake pads are high on that list. Besides EV2, Accossato offers the AGPA38 front pad for the 675 R from 2009 to 2017 in ZXC ceramic racing compound. It gives a second racing material to test across a weekend, for riders and teams who like to compare options in practice before settling on one for the race.
Key Features
- AGPA38 front pads for the Triumph Street Triple 675 R, 2009 to 2017
- ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA38ZXC
- For racing and structured testing over a weekend
- Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- Two pads per box, one box per front caliper
- Also made as ST, EV1 and EV2 on this plate
- No German ABE; competition use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing. It publishes no breakdown of the material, and we do not invent one. On the AGPA38 plate the ZXC version gives 675 R racers an alternative to EV2 within the same shape, so switching between them is a matter of swapping pads rather than hardware.
Testing Two Racing Mixes
A sensible way to compare compounds is to run one in the first practice session and the other in the second, keeping tyres, fluid and settings unchanged. Note how the lever feels on the first laps, how it behaves when fully warm, and whether your braking markers need to move. Photos of the pad faces after each run help later decisions. The rider's own confidence at the end of the straight is often the deciding factor.
Pit Crew Checklist
Whoever helps in the pits should check pad thickness on both calipers, confirm the retaining parts are secure, look for any fluid weeping and make sure the lever is firm before the bike goes out. Ceramic racing pads, like any new set, need controlled bedding-in before full effort.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Accossato catalogue specifies the AGPA38 for the 675 R's front calipers, model years 2009 through 2017. One box handles one caliper, so a pair of boxes renews the front. The rear pad for this bike is the AGPP91, listed from 2013 to 2018, and the DK203 disc also appears in the list.
Road Approval
For ZXC we hold neither a German ABE nor a test report; these pads are therefore sold for racing.
