DescriptionThe whole story▼
For a racer who likes to experiment, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 Katana is an unusual but rewarding base. Once the basics are in place, brake compound choice becomes one of the variables worth testing. AGPA106 in the ZXC ceramic racing mixture is Accossato's ceramic front pad for the Katana from 2019 to 2026, a competition option for riders and small teams who try different setups across a weekend and compare the results.

Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, ZXC is a ceramic compound and ideal for racing. It offers a different character to the conventional racing pad and is chosen by riders who want to explore that difference. The general properties Accossato gives its pads, low wear, contained heating with little fade and powerful stopping, apply too.
Keeping a Brake Log
The only way to judge a compound on a Katana is to use it under the same conditions as the one it replaces. A simple brake log helps: track, temperature, tyre, pad set, lap times and the rider's comments on lever feel and stopping points. Fit the ceramic set with the same care as any other: clean pistons before pushing them back, keep solvent away from the friction material, and pump the lever until it is firm. Give the pads an easy out lap before full pace. Over two or three sessions the log will show whether ZXC suits your riding and your circuit. It is worth repeating the comparison on a second circuit too, since a tight, stop-start layout and a fast flowing one load the Katana's front brakes in quite different ways.
Fitment and Compatibility
For AGPA106 Accossato lists the GSX-S 1000 Katana, 2019 to 2026. With two front calipers on the bike and one caliper covered by each box, two boxes are needed. Rear pad AGPP88 and disc DK251 complete Accossato's list for the model. Alternatives in this shape are Sintered, EV1 street/track and EV2 racing.
Road Approval
No ABE or German test mark is available for AGPA106ZXC, so it is sold for racing and competition only.
