DescriptionThe whole story▼
Teams that race an MV Agusta F4 1000 RC from 2015 to 2020 can choose Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound for the front brake. This set is for crews who approach brakes the same way they approach suspension and tyres, as settings to be tested, logged and refined from the first practice session on Friday to the final race on Sunday.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing front pads for the F4 1000 RC
- 2015 to 2020
- Ceramic compound ideal for racing, per Accossato
- For circuit-only RCs
- Alternative to EV2
- Two pads per box for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's statement about ZXC is that it is a ceramic compound ideal for racing. It is aimed at competition bikes and makes no claims for road use. Like all the company's pads, it is designed to wear slowly, to keep heat within limits so the brake resists fade, and to deliver a high level of stopping power. Accossato, which was founded in Moncalieri in 1969, offers this pad shape in several mixtures, and ZXC is the ceramic one.
A Crew That Logs Everything
Well-organised race teams record the history of every set of pads: the date it was fitted, how many laps it has covered, how the rider described the lever feel after each session and what the discs looked like at the end of the day. On an RC race bike, the ceramic ZXC set fits that approach well. Some teams keep it for the whole season; others switch between it and EV2 depending on the layout of the circuit and the length of the braking zones. For road riding, ST or EV1 would be more suitable.
Pit Box Practice
Fit new pads to both front calipers together and use the opening laps of practice to bed them in progressively. After each outing, measure the remaining material and check the discs for heat marks or cracks. If the lever starts to travel further, bleed the system before the next session. Clean the pistons before retracting them, and keep a spare set labelled and ready.
Fitment and Compatibility
This front pad is catalogued for the F4 1000 RC in model years 2015 through 2020, and for no other version in this listing. Its rear partner, AGPA118, covers the same RC years. A race build that has swapped calipers needs a shape check before ordering. With twin front calipers, two boxes complete the front.
Road Approval
No ABE, test mark or approval document is available for these pads. They are sold for motorsport and competition.
Scope of Delivery
One box, two ceramic-compound pads, one caliper. No mounting parts.
