DescriptionThe whole story▼
For riders who compete with a Moto Guzzi V9 X-Track 850 and want to fine-tune the front brake across a race weekend, Accossato makes the AGPA96 plate in ZXC ceramic racing. It fits the 2017 X-Track. The ceramic compound is aimed at racers and teams who treat pad choice as part of the set-up, adjusting it between practice, qualifying and race in the same way as tyre pressures or suspension.
Key Features
- AGPA96 front pads for the Moto Guzzi V9 X-Track 850, 2017
- ZXC ceramic racing compound, SKU AGPA96ZXC
- Accossato: a ceramic mixture intended for racing
- For set-up work over a full race weekend
- Designed for hot, repeated stops
- Useful for teams comparing compounds in the pit
- One caliper set per box
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. Its territory is the circuit, where brake temperatures are high and the rider needs a bite that remains stable from the first to the last lap. The brand also emphasises reduced fading and long life, which helps when one set of pads has to last through several sessions.
Working in the Pit Lane
Racers often bring more than one compound to the track and decide on the day which suits the circuit and the weather. ZXC ceramic racing gives a V9 X-Track team another option alongside the other racing mixtures. The pads are quick to change in the pit: clean the pistons with brake cleaner, push them back carefully, fit the pads and pump the lever until it is firm before the bike leaves the garage. Once fitted, keep the discs free of grease and take a few laps to bed in the pads. Note the lever feel and the wear after each session so that you can compare the compounds objectively. On a circuit with long straights and heavy braking the ceramic compound is used hard, so check pad thickness regularly and never start a race with a set that is nearly worn.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA96 only for the front of the V9 850 X-Track in the 2017 model year. The rear of this Guzzi takes AGPA28. The same plate is also available as EV2 racing if you want a second racing compound to compare. Check whether your bike has one or two front calipers; each box covers one.
Road Approval
AGPA96ZXC has no German ABE, and no test certificate is held. The pads are intended for motorsport and closed-circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic front pads in one box, one caliper's worth.
