The ZXC ceramic racing version of the AGPA96 front pad is the specialist choice for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure T of 2017 to 2019. Accossato describes it as a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and we suggest it only to riders who compete with their T and who like to refine their set-up from session to session. For road touring, the other compounds of the same pad are the more fitting options.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of ZXC is a single statement: a ceramic compound ideal for racing. We add nothing to that about temperatures, materials or friction values. In general terms, the maker designs its pads to limit heat, resist fade and wear slowly. The ceramic face is mounted on the AGPA96 plate, so it fits the calipers in the same way as the road compounds.
A Spare Set in the Van
Competitors often travel with a spare set of pads in the van, alongside tyres, fuel and tools. When the first set is worn or when conditions change, the swap has to be quick and clean. A ceramic racing compound like ZXC is one of the options riders carry to fine-tune the front of the bike during the weekend.
Do the swap on a stand with good light. Clean the pistons before pushing them back, fit both calipers at once and pump the lever until it is firm before you roll the T off the stand. Write down how many sessions each set has done so you know when to change it. Between sessions, look at the discs for any signs of overheating or uneven wear.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA96 for the two front calipers of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure T, 2017 to 2019, so two boxes are needed. For the rear, the Accossato AGPA29 is listed for the same years. Check the shape of the old pads against the new ones before fitting.
