DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's ceramic option for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE is the AGPA109 front pad in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, listed for 2019 to 2024. It is a specialist part. It suits riders who run the big Versys in a competition setting and like to fine-tune their machine over a race weekend, trying a different pad feel alongside suspension and tyre changes. For relaxed touring it is not the intended choice; for a garage full of spares and a set-up sheet it may be.
Key Features
- AGPA109 front pads for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE, 2019 to 2024
- ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA109ZXC
- Ceramic racing mixture according to Accossato
- Adds another pad character to a set-up programme
- For riders who tune the bike session by session
- Same plate also comes as ST, EV1 and EV2
- No German ABE on file; supplied for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound that is ideal for racing. That is the whole of its brief: circuit work, not commuting. The company also says, for its pads in general, that they limit heat build-up and therefore fade, that they wear slowly and that they stop strongly. The ceramic layer is fixed to the usual AGPA109 backing.
Working the Set-Up Sheet
Race teams rarely change only one thing at once. They note tyre pressures, fork settings and, sometimes, the pad compound, then compare how the bike stops and turns in. Having a ceramic option alongside the other racing mixtures gives a Versys 1000 SE owner one more variable to try when the front end does not feel right on a particular circuit.
When swapping pads in the pit lane, keep each set labelled, clean the pistons before pressing them back, and make sure no grease or spray reaches the disc. After refitting, pump the lever until it is firm again before the bike leaves the garage.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue lists AGPA109 for the front of the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE, model years 2019 to 2024. The rear pad for these years is AGPP88, and there is no disc listing. Because the bike has two front calipers, fitting both sides takes two sets. Line up old and new pads before installation.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or certification for AGPA109ZXC. It is sold for use in racing only.
