DescriptionThe whole story▼
The ZXC ceramic racing version of Accossato's AGPA177 front pad is listed for the Indian FTR 1200 Rally from 2019 to 2024. The company calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing, so it belongs on a Rally that has been turned into a race or track machine, where the brake is adjusted across a weekend. Everyday Rally riders will get more from the sintered or EV1 versions of the same pad.
Key Features
- AGPA177 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing
- For the Indian FTR 1200 Rally, 2019 to 2024
- Ceramic compound intended for competition
- For race-prepared Rallys and track weekends
- Other options: ST, EV1 and EV2
- Two pads for one caliper per box
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's catalogue sums up ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. The ceramic base gives it a feel that differs from the brand's road and mixed-use compounds, particularly once the discs are hot, and racers choose it for that behaviour. ZXC is designed for full sessions of repeated heavy stops, with Accossato's usual aims of low wear and limited heat build-up.
Tuning the Front Over a Weekend
Running a Rally at a race meeting means learning how the ceramic pad behaves at each stage: its bite on the first cold lap, its feel after several hard laps, its consistency at the end of the session. Riders use practice to find that out, then set lever reach and braking points accordingly. After each outing, measure pad thickness, look for deposits or discolouration on the discs, and blow dust out of both calipers. Replace all front pads together and bed in a fresh set on a slow lap. Spoked wheels and a taller bar change how the Rally behaves under braking compared with its cast-wheel siblings, so time spent learning the ceramic pad on this particular bike is well invested.
Fitment and Compatibility
According to Accossato, AGPA177 goes on the front of any FTR 1200 Rally built between 2019 and 2024; the matching back-wheel part is AGPA42. The Rally's twin front calipers mean two boxes for a full change, one box per caliper. Push the pistons back only after cleaning them, fit the pads, and pump the lever until the pressure is solid before the bike leaves the paddock. Keep the torque figures for the caliper bolts from the workshop manual at hand.
Road Approval
We have no approval documents or German ABE for this ceramic pad; it is supplied for racing and competition only.
Scope of Delivery
