DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato also lists its AGPA177 front pad for the Indian FTR 1200 R Carbon from 2021 to 2025 in ZXC ceramic racing, a ceramic compound it describes as ideal for competition. It is meant for R Carbon owners whose bike spends weekends at race meetings, where the brake is adjusted across practice, qualifying and race. Road riders will be better served by the sintered or EV1 versions of the same pad.

Key Features

  • AGPA177 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing
  • For the Indian FTR 1200 R Carbon, 2021 to 2025
  • Ceramic compound designed for racing, per Accossato
  • For race meetings and brake setup work
  • Also offered as ST, EV1 and EV2
  • Two pads per box, one caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. Its ceramic base gives it a distinctive feel compared with the brand's other mixtures, particularly once the brake is hot, and racing teams choose it deliberately for that. The pad is designed for full sessions of repeated heavy stops. As with every Accossato pad, it also carries the design goals of slow wear and limited heating.

Practice, Qualifying, Race

A race weekend with an R Carbon follows a rhythm. In practice, the rider learns how the ceramic pad bites with cold and hot discs; in qualifying, lever reach and braking markers are refined; in the race, the brake should simply do what it did the day before. After each session, measure the pad material left, look at the discs for deposits or discolouration, and clean dust out of both calipers. Change all front pads at the same time so both calipers work evenly, and record lever settings between events. A ceramic pad rewards that kind of bookkeeping, because the rider learns exactly how the R Carbon responds at each stage of a set's life.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA177 for the front of the FTR 1200 R Carbon from 2021 to 2025, and AGPA42 for its rear. With two front calipers, the R Carbon needs two boxes for a complete front change. Clean the pistons before retracting them, and pump the lever until it is firm.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or approval documents for this ceramic pad; it is sold strictly for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato AGPA177 pads in ZXC ceramic racing, one set for one of the front calipers of the R Carbon.
