DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some owners strip their Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 of mirrors and lights and turn it into a dedicated circuit machine for single-cylinder racing. For that crowd, Accossato offers the front pad AGPA96 in ZXC ceramic racing, SKU AGPA96ZXC, catalogued for model years 2019 to 2021. It is a compound for riders who spend their weekends in a paddock, fine-tune the bike between sessions and want a front brake built around the demands of competition rather than the school run.
Key Features
- ZXC front pads with a ceramic racing mixture
- Husqvarna Svartpilen 701, 2019 to 2021, SKU AGPA96ZXC
- Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- Made for hot, sustained circuit use
- A tool for setting up the bike across a weekend
- Other mixtures in the same outline: OR, ST, EV1, EV2
- Competition use, no approval papers
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato labels ZXC as a ceramic mixture that is ideal for racing. It sits alongside EV2 at the competitive end of the range but has its own character, and riders often choose between them by testing both. On the Svartpilen 701 the pad is mounted on the familiar AGPA96 backing, so it fits the caliper without changes. As with every Accossato pad, the maker points to low wear and a limited tendency to fade under heat.
Fine-Tuning Over a Race Weekend
A race weekend is a sequence of small adjustments: tyre pressures, suspension clicks, gearing, and brake feel. Trying the ceramic ZXC on the Svartpilen 701 during free practice lets a rider judge how it suits their style, how it releases on the way into a corner and how it copes as the day warms up. In the pit box, check the pads after each outing, blow the dust out of the caliper and note any change in lever travel so the next session starts from a known baseline.
A fluid change before the event and a proper bedding-in lap are part of the routine with any race compound.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA96 for the front brake of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701, model years 2019 to 2021, with 2018 at the start of the maker's own entry. The rear uses AGPP91, and the disc DK209 is also in the range. Check how many calipers the front of your Svartpilen 701 has, and compare this set with the pads you remove.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or test certificate for AGPA96ZXC, so this ceramic set is sold for racing only.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC pads in the box, one set for a single caliper.
