DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some garages arrive at a race weekend with a plan for the brakes as well as for the suspension, and the ZXC ceramic racing compound belongs to that way of working. Accossato offers it on the AGPA106 front pad of the Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera, catalogue years 2020 to 2024. A ceramic mixture is a family of its own rather than a harder version of what came before, and riders who try it usually do so because they are after a different feel at the lever, not simply more of the same.
Key Features
- AGPA106ZXC, the ceramic option among Accossato's front pads for this Ducati
- Fits the Panigale V4 Superleggera of 2020 to 2024
- Accossato's classification: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
- A decision made in the garage, alongside those about tyres and setup
- Two pads per box, one caliper's fill, and the front wheel carries two calipers
- Alternatives on the same carrier: ST for mixed weather, EV1 and EV2 for street and race duty
- Pads wear at their own rate; keep an eye on both sides of each caliper
- No German ABE or comparable document on file; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato files this one as a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and that is the whole of the manufacturer's statement. Ceramic friction material behaves differently from a metallic one in ways riders tend to describe rather than measure: the pressure wanted at the lever, how progressive the first part of a stop feels, the noise it makes cold in the pit lane. None of that is written on the box, which is why the compound is mostly adopted by people who have run others first. The carrier is the familiar AGPA106, so moving from one material to another is half an hour with the bike on stands. A box serves one caliper of the Panigale V4 Superleggera.
Choosing Brakes Between Sessions
A race weekend is a sequence of small decisions, and the brakes are usually the last thing a rider is willing to change, because an unfamiliar feel at the lever costs confidence before it gives any back. If ceramic pads are going in, they belong at the start of a test day rather than in the half hour before a race, with enough laps afterwards to learn where the bite arrives and how much pressure the front tyre of the Panigale V4 Superleggera will accept before it protests. Bedding in is part of that: a handful of progressively firmer stops, no dragging, and no long pull from high speed on the very first lap. Keep the disc faces clean and free of any spray from the chain or from a cleaning cloth, since a contaminated surface teaches you the wrong lesson about the pads. Write down what you felt after each session, because brake impressions fade faster than lap times do.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's tables the machine appears as the Superleggera V4, listed from 2020 to 2024, and the AGPA106 is its front pad in every compound offered. Two boxes cover the front end of the bike, and anyone working on one side only should still replace that caliper's pads as a pair. The rear wheel is served by the AGPA42, while the DKS036 completes the picture as the disc Accossato lists for the Panigale V4 Superleggera.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for this article and nothing else in the way of approval, so we list it as a competition part.
Scope of Delivery
