DescriptionThe whole story▼
Anybody who runs a Panigale 1299 at circuit events keeps a crate of spares in the van, and brake pads are always in it. The ZXC ceramic racing material is Accossato's ceramic option for that crate: a compound the company describes as made for competition, pressed onto the familiar AGPA106 front carrier and sold as AGPA106ZXC. The entry covers the 1299, the R and the R Final Edition from 2015 to 2018, and a box holds the two pads a single caliper needs.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Panigale 1299, 2015 to 2018
- AGPA106ZXC: the AGPA106 carrier in the ZXC ceramic racing material
- Accossato calls the compound ceramic and made for racing
- The entry includes the 1299 R and the R Final Edition
- A box per caliper, and there are two at the front
- Worth keeping a second set for a full event weekend
- ST, EV1 and EV2 are the other choices on this carrier
- No German ABE documented; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
The ceramic material is the specialist among the four, and Accossato does not pretend otherwise: racing is the use it names, and nothing in the description points at a commute. Underneath, the AGPA106 plate is shared with every other suffix, which is convenient for anyone running more than one material across a season on the same Panigale 1299. The company's works sit at Villastellone, south of Turin, and brake and clutch components have been its business since 1969.
What Lives in the Spares Crate
A well-packed crate saves a weekend. Levers, a set of pads, fluid, a spare chain and the tools to fit all of it while somebody else is out on track. Pads are the item most often needed and the one most often forgotten, because a set that looked healthy on Friday can be marginal by Sunday morning after four sessions on a bike as quick as the Panigale 1299. Buying the spare set alongside the first one is the simplest way of never finding out the hard way.
Fitting them in a paddock is a five-minute job if the caliper is clean and a long one if it is not. Wash the brake dust off before the pistons are pushed back, keep anything oily away from the disc faces, and check the disc for grooves while the wheel is out of the Panigale 1299. Once the wheel is back in, work the lever until the pressure has returned, and treat the first laps on a new set as part of the fitting rather than as part of the session.
Fitment and Compatibility
The article is listed for the front axle of the Panigale 1299 across 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, covering the standard bike, the R and the R Final Edition. A caliper on each side means a box on each side. The rear of the machine is served by the AGPA42 over the same period, and the DKS036 is Accossato's disc for it. Other Panigale models are separate entries in the catalogue and want checking individually.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for this ceramic article in our files and no test certificate either, so it is sold for competition and closed courses, in line with how Accossato describes the material itself.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA106 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing material, boxed as one caliper's set. Two boxes cover the front of a Panigale 1299.
