DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plenty of F900XR owners ride their bike to the circuit, tape the lights over, take part, then ride home on the same tyres. Sooner or later they stop asking one set of pads to do both jobs and start carrying a second set in the van or the top box. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound in the AGPA177 outline belongs to the racing half of that arrangement. It is listed for the BMW F900XR from 2020 to 2026, and the firm describes it simply as a ceramic mixture meant for competition.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing front pads, article number AGPA177ZXC
- BMW F900XR, model years 2020 to 2026, front wheel
- A ceramic compound that Accossato points at racing
- Intended for track sessions rather than for the journey there
- Two pads per box; one box per caliper
- This bike carries a caliper on each of its front discs
- The rear wheel is covered by the AGPP91 pad for the same years
- No approval documents available; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The ZXC is the ceramic member of the AGPA177 family, and its catalogue entry is a single line: a ceramic compound suited to racing. We have nothing beyond that and would sooner leave it bare than dress it up. What a rider looks for from such a material is a response that does not wander while the front end is hot, so that one pull at the lever means the same thing on the second lap of a session as on the twelfth. That is what makes a marker at the side of the track usable at all. Pads travel in pairs, a box to a caliper.
One Bike, Two Jobs, Two Sets of Pads
Running road pads and race pads on the same F900XR is straightforward, provided you treat each change as a proper job rather than a five-minute swap in a paddock. Wipe the pistons before you press them back, because grit carried in from the road ride will otherwise be dragged past the seals. Refit, then work the lever until it goes solid again before the bike moves. Bed the fresh set in with progressively firmer stops, ideally the evening before rather than on an out-lap.
Keep the sets apart and labelled once they come off. A part-worn pad wears a shape that matches the disc it ran against, so pads and wheel want to stay together, and a scribbled note of which set ran on which day is worth more at the end of a season than any single measurement. Store them away from oil and cleaning products; anything greasy that reaches the friction face has effectively ended that pad's career.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues the AGPA177 for the front wheel of the BMW F900XR across the years 2020 to 2026, and the ZXC is one of four materials offered in that shape. Two front calipers mean two boxes for a complete change, and the pads always go in as matched pairs. The same catalogue covers the rear of this bike with the AGPP91 pad over the identical span, and offers the DK006 and DK007 discs for owners whose original ones have done enough seasons.
Road Approval
Approval papers for this article have never reached us, and no German ABE exists for it. Accordingly the AGPA177ZXC is offered for competition and closed-course riding only.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA177 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, the set for one front caliper.
