DescriptionThe whole story▼
Paddock work has a rhythm of its own. Between two sessions there is time to check tyre pressures, look at the fuel, and decide whether the brakes will last another run. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing material belongs to that part of the day: a ceramic mix the firm recommends for competition, here in the AGPA92 pad for the front of the BMW F900GS built from 2024 to 2026. It is bought by riders who treat pads as a consumable to be planned for, not as a part that is fitted once and forgotten.
Key Features
- Article number AGPA92ZXC: front pads in the ZXC ceramic racing material
- Fits the BMW F900GS of the 2024 to 2026 years
- A ceramic compound that Accossato recommends for racing
- Two plates in the box, which is what one caliper holds
- The F900GS front end uses two calipers, so budget two boxes per change
- The same pad shape exists in the OR, ST, EV1 and EV2 materials
- AGPP91 is the matching rear pad for this machine
- No German ABE on file; sold for the circuit and for competition
Construction and Material Quality
All the AGPA92 numbers share one plate outline and differ in what is bonded to it. This one wears the ceramic mix, which the maker describes in a single line as a compound for racing. Ceramic materials are chosen in that world for their behaviour when a brake is worked hard and given no chance to cool, and Accossato's general claim for its pads, that they limit their own heating and so hold off fading, is most relevant here. Two plates make up a caliper set. As with any competition material, it is the rider who has to supply the discipline: bed the pads in properly, then read them after every outing.
Pads Between Two Sessions
Half an hour in the paddock is enough to change a set of pads if the tools are laid out and the box is open before the bike comes off the stand. Clean the caliper mouths, push the pistons back slowly with the fluid reservoir open and an eye on the level, and wipe the disc with a clean rag and nothing oily. Fit the new plates, then pump the lever until it goes hard again before the bike leaves the awning, because a soft lever discovered on the way to the assembly area costs a session. On an F900GS, which many owners run on knobbly or dual-purpose tyres even on a closed course, the front tyre gives up before the pads do, so the log of a weekend is usually a list of tyre decisions with a pad change somewhere in the middle. Write down when the set went in. Guesswork about how much material is left has ended more weekends than a broken bike.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's chart shows the AGPA92 fitting the front of the 2024 to 2026 F900GS. Because one box serves one caliper, a rider renewing the whole axle needs a second box, and both sides should be replaced together so the wheel is pulled up evenly. For the rear of this F900GS the catalogue names the AGPP91, and the disc listed for the same machine is the DK006.
Road Approval
These pads reach us without a German ABE and without any test documentation, so we can make no statement about their use on public roads. They are sold for racing and for track riding.
