DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every F 850 GS is ridden the way its shape suggests. A few belong to people who enter closed-course events, ride organised timed sections, or simply keep a second set of pads in the garage for the days when the bike is not carrying luggage. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound is one of the two competition materials it offers on the AGPA92 pad, and this article number covers the front of the BMW F 850 GS of 2018 to 2023.
Key Features
- ZXC ceramic racing compound on the AGPA92 plate, article number AGPA92ZXC
- Front wheel of the BMW F 850 GS, 2018 to 2023
- A ceramic mixture Accossato offers for competition
- Stands beside the firm's other race material rather than replacing it
- Two pads per box, the set for one caliper
- OR, ST, EV1 and EV2 versions share the same plate
- Rear of this machine: AGPP91 over the same years
- Neither a German ABE nor test papers on file; competition only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls this a ceramic compound intended for racing. It exists alongside the firm's other competition material rather than above it: two different characters for the same kind of work, and which one suits a rider is a question of feel rather than of ranking. Since both sit on the identical AGPA92 plate, moving between them is a routine job with the wheel out. The company's general claims for its pads apply here as elsewhere, chief among them a resistance to fade that comes from not overheating. Each box is two pads and fills a single caliper.
A Second Set for the Event Weekend
Plenty of owners run two sets of pads and change them according to what the weekend holds. The everyday set does the commuting and the touring; the competition set comes out of the cupboard on the Friday evening and goes back in afterwards. It is not complicated work, but it repays a little order. Label the boxes, note which set has how much life left in it, and keep them somewhere dry and clear of oil. When the competition pads go on, give them a proper bedding-in ride before the first session rather than turning up at a circuit on untouched material. And when the F 850 GS returns to normal duties, take the time to clean the caliper properly instead of swapping in a hurry, because the pads you put away today are the ones you will be trusting in six months.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA92 belongs to the front wheel of the BMW F 850 GS from 2018 to 2023 in Accossato's data. One box, two pads, one caliper; a front wheel carrying two calipers therefore wants two boxes, and both sides should hold the same material. For other sorts of riding the same shape comes as OR, ST, EV1 and EV2. At the rear of this bike the AGPP91 covers the identical years, and the disc Accossato names for the F 850 GS is the DK006.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor any test paperwork for the AGPA92ZXC has reached us, which is why it leaves the shop as a competition part for closed circuits alone.
Scope of Delivery
One box containing two AGPA92 pads in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, enough for one front caliper.
