Nothing tells you as much about a set of brake pads as the lever after twenty minutes of hard use. If it still stops where it stopped on the out lap, the material is coping; if it creeps towards the bar, it is not. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound exists for riders who judge pads that way, and it is listed in the AGPA177 shape for the front of the Aprilia Caponord 1200 built from 2013 to 2019, a big tourer that a small number of owners take onto circuits.

Construction and Material Quality
Ceramic is the word Accossato attaches to this material, and racing is the use it names for it. Within the AGPA177 range it is the alternative to the sintered racing route rather than a step above it, chosen by riders who prefer the way a ceramic mixture answers the hand. Accossato points to high stopping power for the compound. The shape, the backing and the box are the same as for the rest of the family: one set, two pads, one caliper.
Reading the Lever Through a Session
Pads speak through the lever, and a session is long enough to hear them properly. On the first laps the material is still coming up to working temperature and the bite point sits where you left it last time out. As the pace rises the pads settle, and from then on what you are listening for is change: a bite point that wanders, a lever that needs more travel for the same slowing, a squeal that appears only on the hardest stop of the lap. Note where the lever sits on lap three and compare it on lap twelve. If nothing has moved, the material is inside its range. When the session ends, ride a cooling lap instead of braking hard into the pit entry, and have a look at the friction thickness before the bike goes back out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA177 at the front of the ETV 1200 Caponord across the 2013 to 2019 model years, and separately for the version with the Travel Pack sold from 2016. A caliper sits behind each front disc, so plan on a pair of boxes and fit them in one go. Three further materials share this shape, ST, EV1 and EV2, if a ceramic mixture is not what you are after. The rear of the bike takes the AGPP91, and the front discs are covered by the DKS032.
Road Approval
For the AGPA177ZXC we hold no approval paperwork of any kind and no German ABE. That places it firmly in the racing and closed-circuit category, which is how we supply it.
