DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport is not the obvious bike for a track day, and that is part of the appeal: a retro twin with sportier suspension, lined up in the pit lane among sports bikes. Riders who take one to a circuit soon discover how much they use their feet. For the Scrambler 1100 Sport of 2018 to 2019, Accossato lists its FT102 touring footpegs, machined from aluminium, anodised black with a red insert and notched to give the boot more grip.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport, 2018–2019
- Aluminium, CNC-machined
- Anodised black, with a red insert
- Notch to improve the boot's grip
- Front and rear footpegs, sold separately
- Replace the original footpegs
- No German ABE on record; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The FT102 is built simply. Accossato machines the peg from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodises it black and adds a red insert; there is no decoration beyond that. The feature that matters on a circuit is a notch designed to increase the grip of the boot, so the foot stays where you put it while you move your weight around. Accossato sells front and rear sets separately, and on track the rider's front set is the one that does the work.
First Track Day on a Scrambler
Preparing a Scrambler 1100 Sport for its first circuit day is mostly common sense. Check the tyres and their pressures, tape over the lights and mirrors or remove them if the organiser asks, and make sure every fastener is tight, footpegs included. On track you will lean the bike further than on the road, and you will do it lap after lap. Bikes with an upright riding position often reach the limit of their ground clearance at the footpegs or other low parts before the tyres run out of grip, so listen for scraping and change your line and body position rather than leaning further. Move your upper body to the inside, keep the ball of the inside foot on the peg with the toes tucked in, and let the outside knee press against the tank. The notched peg helps the foot stay put while you do that. If the organiser offers instruction, book it; a few laps behind a coach teach more than a day alone.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT102 for the Scrambler 1100 Sport of 2018 and 2019, including a Thai version of 2019 and a US version of 2018. Before the first session, have a workshop fit the pegs to Ducati's tightening values with thread locker where the manual requires it, and check how the gear lever and brake pedal sit relative to your boots with the new pegs in place.
Road Approval
No German ABE or Teilegutachten is documented for the FT102. That fits the use we sell it for: track days such as the one described above, not public roads.
