DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 invites relaxed riding: a retro look, an air-cooled twin and an upright riding position that suits a ride to a café as well as a long weekend. Relaxed riding often means relaxed footwear, and trainers or city shoes grip a footpeg far less well than motorcycle boots. The FT102 from Accossato is a touring footpeg listed for the Scrambler 1100 of 2018 to 2019: aluminium machined on CNC equipment, black anodising set off by a red insert, and a notch that gives any sole more to hold.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the Ducati Scrambler 1100, 2018–2019
- CNC-machined aluminium
- Black anodising with a red insert
- Notch for extra grip, useful with flat soles
- Front or rear footpegs, sold separately
- Replace the original footpegs
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The FT102 suits the Scrambler 1100's taste for visible, honest materials. It is aluminium, shaped on CNC machines and anodised black, with a red insert as a small accent. Its practical feature is a notch that Accossato designed to give a sole a better hold. Anodising gives the aluminium a hard, even surface that does not flake, and a wipe with a damp cloth is usually all it needs. The pegs come as front or rear sets, so you can replace the rider's pegs, the passenger's, or both.
Trainers, Boots and Footpegs
Motorcycle boots have a firm sole with a defined tread and usually a heel that hooks behind the peg and keeps the foot from sliding forward. Trainers and many city shoes have soft, flat soles that bend around a peg and slip off it more easily, especially when wet. They also protect the ankle far less in a fall, which is a stronger reason to wear proper boots than grip alone. If you do ride the Scrambler 1100 in lighter shoes, choose ones with a stiff sole and tuck the laces away so they cannot catch on the gear lever. Whatever you wear, the notch in the FT102 gives the sole something to hold, and it helps most with smooth, flat soles that would otherwise skate across a peg. Riding boots in a casual style exist as well; many look at home on a Scrambler and still protect the foot.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Scrambler 1100, Accossato names three entries: the standard bike of 2018, a US version of 2018 and 2019, and a Thai version of 2019. The front and rear footpegs are separate products. Have a workshop do the fitting to Ducati's tightening values, with thread-locking compound where the manual prescribes it, and try the shift lever and brake pedal with the shoes or boots you usually ride in.
Road Approval
For the FT102 we hold no German ABE or Teilegutachten. We sell it for track use, not for the Scrambler 1100 on public roads.
