DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sooner or later, a long day on a Ducati Multistrada 1260 includes rain. Waterproof clothing keeps you dry, but water still runs down your trousers onto your boots, and a wet sole on a smooth, wet peg has very little grip. Accossato's FT102 touring footpegs for the Multistrada 1260 of 2018 to 2020 address that with a notch in the peg that increases the boot's grip. They are CNC-machined aluminium, anodised black with a red insert, and replace either the rider's front pegs or the passenger's rear pegs.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the Ducati Multistrada 1260, 2018–2020
- Aluminium, CNC-machined
- Black anodising, red insert
- Notch for grip with wet or dry boots
- Front or rear footpegs, sold separately
- Replace the original footpegs
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium copes well with a wet life: the metal forms no red rust, and anodising seals its surface further with a hard oxide layer. Accossato machines the FT102 on CNC equipment, anodises it black and adds a red insert, so the peg keeps its looks after many wet rides. The notch is the part designed for weather like this: it gives the sole of the boot an edge to hold when water has taken away most of the friction between rubber and metal.
Rain, Spray and Relaxed Feet
Smooth riders stay loose in the wet. Tension in arms and legs makes every input abrupt, and abrupt inputs are what break traction on a slippery road. Loose legs still need a secure base, though: your feet must stay on the pegs without you pressing them down hard. That is where grip at the peg helps. With the balls of your feet resting on notched pegs, you can relax your ankles and knees and still feel anchored to the Multistrada 1260. Spray from lorries on the motorway adds a film of dirty water to everything, boots included, so a peg that holds the sole regardless is more than a detail. Brake earlier and more gently than in the dry, avoid painted lines and manhole covers when leaning, and leave more space to the vehicle ahead. After the ride, rinse the road dirt off the pegs so the notch stays clear.
Fitment and Compatibility
The FT102 appears on Accossato's list for the Multistrada 1260 from 2018 to 2020, including the Touring version and bikes for the US market, with Brazilian and Thai versions listed for 2018 and 2019. Front and rear footpegs are sold separately under the same number. Let a workshop handle the fitting with Ducati's specified tightening values and thread locker where the manual says, and have it check that the gear lever and rear brake pedal still sit right for your boots on the Multistrada 1260.
Road Approval
As far as our documentation goes, the FT102 has neither an ABE nor a parts certificate. It is therefore offered for track use, while a Multistrada 1260 ridden on public roads in Germany should keep its original footpegs.
