DescriptionThe whole story▼
The BP012 completes the 13.5 mm thumb brake line-up, pairing the bent, clearance-shaped lever with Accossato's matching bracket so the whole unit bolts to the bar at a fixed, repeatable angle. It gives the firmer rear brake response of the larger piston, the clearance of a cranked lever around a clutch perch or switch cluster, and a ready-to-fit bracket in one kit. As with the rest of the range, it is built for flat track, supermoto and adaptive hand-control use.
Key Features
- 13.5 mm piston diameter for a firmer, more direct rear brake bite
- Bent-shape lever for clearance around the clutch lever or switchgear
- Matching mounting bracket included for a straight bolt-on fit
- CNC-worked aluminium body with a black hard oxidation finish
- Suited to heavier machines and riders who prefer a firmer brake feel
- 10 mm brake hose fitting matched to the larger piston
- Designed to pair with the double-ended MP005 for combined pedal and thumb braking
Construction and Material Quality
The BP012 is machined from the same CNC-worked aluminium stock and carries the same hard, black surface oxidation treatment as the rest of the family, with the bore opened to 13.5 mm and the bent lever fitted as a dedicated shaped part rather than an improvised bend. The bracket supplied is built for this lever's geometry, holding the body at the rotation the bend needs to clear a clutch perch or switch cluster once it is tightened to the bar. A 10 mm hose fitting carries over from the rest of the larger-bore units in the range.
A Firmer Bore in a Clearance-Shaped Package
Fitting the bracket at the factory matters most with a bent lever, because the clearance it is meant to create depends on the body sitting at the correct rotation on the bar; a clamp that is slightly off undoes the purpose of the bend. The BP012 carries that logic into the larger 13.5 mm bore, giving a rider who needs the clearance of a cranked lever the option of a firmer rear brake response as well, without having to source or machine a bracket themselves. As elsewhere in the range, Accossato does not recommend pairing a thumb brake master cylinder with a separate rear brake master cylinder on one circuit; the double-ended MP005 is the component built for running both together.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato publishes no motorcycle fitment list for the BP012; as with the rest of the thumb brake family, it is fitted to a handlebar, clip-on or perch rather than matched to one named bike. Before ordering, check the bracket's clamp diameter against your bar, confirm the clearance the bent lever needs around your clutch perch and switchgear, and make sure the 10 mm hose fitting and 13.5 mm piston suit your rear brake system.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for off-road, competition and adaptive hand-control use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato BP012 thumb brake master cylinder with the bent lever and the matching mounting bracket, finished in black CNC-worked aluminium. The fluid reservoir and brake hose are not included and must be sourced separately.
