DescriptionThe whole story▼
With a passenger aboard and bags strapped behind the seat, a Triumph Speedmaster puts a large share of its weight over the rear wheel. On a wet road, the rear brake becomes a key part of stopping calmly. Accossato lists the AGPA76 rear pad for the Speedmaster 800 of 2003 and 2004 and the 900 of 2005 to 2015, and this Sintered (ST) version is designed to grip reliably in the rain and to keep the same pedal feel whether the pads are cold or warm.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) rear pads, Accossato AGPA76ST
- For the Triumph Speedmaster 800 (2003 to 2004) and 900 (2005 to 2015)
- For two-up riding, luggage and wet weather
- Accossato promises stable grip at all temperatures and in the wet
- Two pads per box, one rear caliper
- Also available in Organic
Construction and Material Quality
This is the sintered version of the AGPA76. Accossato states that it keeps a high and consistent grip level at low and high temperatures and performs well on wet discs. On a loaded cruiser, where the rear brake carries more of the load, that consistency makes it easier to brake smoothly. Accossato also designs its pads for long life and good fade resistance.
Rain, Luggage and a Pillion
Riding two-up in the rain on a cruiser calls for calm, early braking. Use the rear brake together with the front, apply pressure gradually and avoid braking hard on painted lines or metal surfaces. On the Speedmaster, the sintered rear pad is chosen to respond predictably in these conditions. After the ride, rinse road dirt from the rear caliper and check the pads for even wear. A sticky caliper slide often causes one pad to wear faster than the other.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the AGPA76 for the rear of the Triumph Speed Master 800, 2003 and 2004, and of the Speedmaster 900, 2005 to 2015. One box fills the single rear caliper. The front of those bikes takes the AGPA72, while the 1200 cc Speedmaster from 2018 uses the AGPA29 at the front. The AGPA76 also comes in Organic.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or road approval certificate for this sintered pad. It is supplied for circuit and competition use.
