Long days in the saddle on a Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, perhaps a tour over several passes with soft luggage, put the rear brake to work in all sorts of conditions. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is listed for the Speed Triple 1200 RS from 2021 to 2025 and is intended for riders who tour on their naked bike.

Construction and Material Quality
The sintered ST version of the AGPA42 is designed, according to Accossato, to keep a high and constant grip level at low and high temperatures and to work well on wet discs. On a tour, where a single day can include cold summits and hot valleys, that consistency is a real advantage. The company also designs its pads for long life and resistance to fade.
Touring on a Naked Bike
A naked bike with soft luggage can be a great tourer, as long as the rider respects the extra weight. On descents, a little rear brake helps to keep the bike stable and reduces the load on the front. On the Speed Triple 1200 RS, a sintered rear pad gives a consistent feel for that job, whatever the weather. Pack luggage evenly, check tyre pressures for the load, and inspect the rear pads before a long trip, as they wear faster on mountain roads. On the road back down from a high pass, alternate between engine braking and short rear applications rather than dragging the pedal continuously; that keeps the rear caliper of the Speed Triple 1200 RS cooler and its feel steadier through the final hairpins.
