DescriptionThe whole story▼
Wet roads, a passenger and a full tank bag all place more demands on the rear brake of a Triumph Bonneville. Accossato lists the AGPA76 rear pad for the Bonneville from 2001 to 2006, 2009 to 2011, 2015 and 2017 to 2018, and the Sintered version is designed for consistent grip in rain and at any temperature, which makes it the choice for touring and year-round riding.
Key Features
- AGPA76 rear pad for the Triumph Bonneville, 2001 to 2006, 2009 to 2011, 2015, 2017 to 2018
- Sintered compound, article AGPA76ST
- High and constant grip, per Accossato
- Good bite in the wet
- Suited to two-up and year-round riding
- Alternative on this plate: OR
- Two pads for the rear caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the Sintered compound as keeping a high, constant grip at low and high temperatures and performing well in the wet. On the rear of a Bonneville used in all weathers, that gives a predictable pedal. The company also claims slow wear and fade resistance.
Rain and a Passenger
With a passenger on the back, the rear brake of the Bonneville can do more work, and on wet roads riders often rely on it to stabilise the bike. A sintered rear pad delivers a consistent response whatever the temperature and whether the disc is wet or dry. That makes the rear brake easier to judge on a rainy ride home or a loaded descent. For solo riders who mainly ride in dry weather, the OR version is the gentler alternative.
Keeping the Rear in Shape
Spray from the rear tyre coats the rear caliper of a Bonneville on every wet ride. Rinse it with clean water after winter trips, look at the pad material during each service and replace the pads before the backing plate touches the disc. Check the brake fluid in the rear reservoir too; old fluid absorbs water and can make the pedal feel vague. A clean, well-maintained rear brake gives the sintered pad the chance to show its consistency.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato assigns AGPA76 to the rear caliper of the Bonneville 800 and 800 America, of the 900 in the years 2009 to 2011, of the 2015 Newchurch and Spirit, and of the 2017 to 2018 Street Cup. Model years 2007 to 2008, 2012 to 2014 and 2016 are absent. At the front, the matching Accossato plate is AGPA72.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or approval documents for AGPA76ST. It is offered for competition use.
