DescriptionThe whole story▼
An older Suzuki SV 650 S used as a year-round commuter, from the 2003 to 2018 range including the ABS version, gets its rear brake soaked with road spray all winter. For this rear brake Accossato offers the AGPP88 pad in its Sintered compound, SKU AGPP88ST. It suits riders who ride every day regardless of the weather and want a rear brake that keeps its grip on a wet disc and does not change character between a frosty morning and a warm evening.
Key Features
- AGPP88 rear pad for the Suzuki SV 650 S, 2003 to 2018
- Sintered compound, SKU AGPP88ST
- Accossato: high, constant grip hot or cold
- Good grip on a wet disc
- Also listed for the ABS SV 650 S
- For year-round commuting
- OR is the alternative compound
- No ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the Sintered compound as giving high grip that stays constant at both low and high temperatures and works well in the wet. For a commuter's rear brake in winter, that is the most useful combination. The company also mentions slow wear and heat control against fade.
A Winter Commuter's Rear Brake
On wet winter roads, riders often slow down gently with the rear brake to avoid overloading the front tyre. A sintered pad that grips reliably on a wet disc makes this more predictable. On the ABS version, the system prevents the wheel from locking, while the pad provides a steady feel.
Riders who commute every day on an older SV 650 S will appreciate a rear pad that does not need replacing with the seasons.
Winter Care
Wash off salt after winter rides, check the disc and caliper for corrosion and change the fluid regularly. Clean the piston before pushing it back when fitting new pads, and give them a few calm stops to settle.
Fitment and Compatibility
Two groups of bikes are covered by this rear pad in the Italian catalogue: the injected SV 650 S of 2003 to 2012, and the S model fitted with ABS, catalogued for 2007 to 2018. If your SV is the newer naked model from 2016 onwards, you need AGPP185 for the back wheel instead. Front pads for the S come under the AGPA94 and AGPA95 numbers. The box covers the single rear caliper.
Road Approval
AGPP88ST has no ABE or German approval in our documentation, so it is sold for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
