DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a GSX-R1000R does quieter work than the front, but it matters: it settles the chassis in slow corners, steadies the bike when you roll off mid-bend and helps on steep downhill hairpins. AGPP39 in the Sintered (ST) mixture is Accossato's rear pad listed for the GSX-R1000R from 2017 to 2026. It is the one compound Accossato offers for this rear caliper, and it is made for riders who use the rear brake all year, in dry and wet conditions.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Suzuki GSX-R1000R, listed 2017 to 2026
- Sintered compound, article AGPP39ST
- Accossato promises high, constant grip across temperatures
- Keeps working on a wet road, according to the maker
- Helps with low-speed control and steep descents
- Front pad for the same bike: AGPA106
- One rear caliper, one box
- No German approval papers; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says its Sintered compound keeps a high and consistent level of grip whether hot or cold, and grips well when water is on the road. For the rear of a superbike, where the pedal is often used lightly and in short bursts, that consistency is the main point. The pads are also designed to last, to avoid heating up too much and to stop strongly when asked.
What the Rear Pad Does on a Superbike
On a GSX-R1000R most of the stopping happens at the front, which is why the rear pads are easy to forget. Yet they wear, especially if you use the pedal to trim speed in town or in slow switchbacks. Check them whenever you inspect the front, look at the disc for grooves, and replace the pads before the material runs thin. After fitting, press the pedal several times until it firms up, and give the new set a few gentle stops before relying on it. A rear pad that behaves the same in rain as in sunshine makes the Suzuki calmer to ride in poor weather.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPP39 for the GSX-R 1000 R with the years 2017 to 2026. Please compare this with your own bike, since the year range in the list is wider than the front pad range. The GSX-R1000R has one rear caliper, so one box is enough. For the front, Accossato's pad is AGPA106, and DKS019 is the listed disc. No other mixture is offered for this rear pad.
Road Approval
Since no ABE or German test document is on file for AGPP39ST, the pads are sold for racing and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
Two Sintered rear pads in one box, a complete set for the rear caliper.
