DescriptionThe whole story▼
Dual-sport riders often use the rear brake of their Suzuki DR-Z400S more than road riders do, especially on wet roads, gravel and long descents. AGPP90 in the Sintered (ST) mixture is Accossato's rear pad for the DR-Z400S from 2000 to 2016. It is made for riders who ride through every season, cover long distances on mixed surfaces and need a rear brake that keeps its bite when conditions turn wet.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Suzuki DR-Z400S, 2000 to 2016
- Sintered compound, SKU AGPP90ST
- Grip stays high and even, cold or hot, per Accossato
- Reliable in rain and spray
- For all-season and mixed-surface riding
- Front pad for the bike: AGPA51
- Organic and STMX also on this plate
- No ABE held; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The Sintered compound, according to Accossato, keeps its grip high and constant at low and high temperatures and works well in the wet. For a dual-sport bike that often meets rain, puddles and spray, that is a clear advantage. Accossato also mentions long service life.
Wet Roads and Gravel Descents
On a gravel descent, the rear brake of the DR-Z400S does much of the work, because a locked front wheel on loose ground is hard to recover. Gentle, steady pressure keeps the bike under control. On wet tarmac, the rear helps settle the bike before you use the front. A sintered pad keeps a consistent feel in both situations. After riding through puddles or mud, rinse the caliper to remove grit, and check that the pads move freely. In winter, clean off road salt regularly to keep the pistons from corroding.
Check the rear pads and the fluid level at every service, and change old fluid before the wet season begins. On long trips with luggage on the rack, the rear takes more of the load, so plan a fresh set before departure if the old one is past half its thickness.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPP90 is listed by Accossato for the rear caliper of the DR-Z 400 S from 2000 to 2016. Bikes built after 2016 are not named for this rear pad, so check fitment first. The front pad AGPA51 covers 2000 to 2023. On this rear plate, Organic and STMX are also available.
Road Approval
No ABE or German approval is on file with us for AGPP90ST. It is sold for competition and circuit use.
