Some owners of the MV Agusta RVS #1 800 from 2018 to 2020 ride it far from home, sometimes with a passenger and a bag, and do not cancel a trip because of rain. For them the rear brake matters more than usual, especially on wet descents. This Sintered (ST) rear set is meant for exactly that kind of riding, where consistency counts for more than anything else.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that the Sintered compound keeps a high, constant grip level at both low and high temperatures and grips well in the wet. On the rear of a bike used in changing conditions, that predictability is the main benefit: the pedal gives the same answer on a cold, damp morning as after a long, warm descent. The company's usual aims of low wear, controlled temperatures to avoid fade and firm stopping apply to this pad as to all others.
Two Up on a Special Edition
With a passenger on board, much more weight sits over the rear wheel, and the rear brake can take a larger share of every stop. On a wet mountain road, a gentle press on the pedal before the front lever helps settle the RVS #1 and keeps both riders calm. The Sintered pad is chosen because its response does not change with temperature or moisture. It also suits riders who keep the bike on the road into autumn. OR and ZXC are the other mixtures Accossato lists for this rear pad.
After a Wet Ride
Road spray and grit collect around the rear caliper, which sits low and close to the chain. Rinse it with plain water and let it dry before parking the bike. When the pads are changed, clean the piston before retracting it and check that both pads slide freely. Look at the fluid, and press the pedal until it is firm before riding off.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this rear pad for the MV Agusta RVS #1 800 in model years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The same bike's front calipers take AGPA96. Just one box is needed at the back, as there is a single rear caliper. On a touring trip it helps to keep both part numbers with you, so a dealer along the way can order the correct shape.
