Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the Sintered mixture fits the 890 Adventure R from 2021 to 2024. It is meant for year-round riders who travel two-up, ride through rain and cross mountain passes, and who want the rear to feel the same whether the weather is freezing or warm.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of this compound centres on consistency: grip stays high and steady when the pad is cold and when it is hot, and it works well in the wet. For a rear pad that is used to trim speed on long downhill stretches, that steadiness is exactly what a loaded bike needs. The company also mentions reduced fade thanks to limited heat build-up, strong stopping and slow wear. The friction layer sits on the standard AGPA29 plate.
Descents with a Passenger
When a pillion is aboard, a larger share of the weight sits over the rear wheel, and many experienced tourers use the rear brake more deliberately to keep the bike level on the way down a pass. A steady compound helps here, because the pedal feel does not change as the rear disc warms up. On wet autumn roads it gives a dependable bite without a warm-up, which calms the first few junctions of the day.
Before a long trip, inspect the rear pads and disc, top up the fluid and clean the caliper if it is caked with dirt. Replace worn pads early rather than halfway through the tour.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the rear caliper of the KTM 890 Adventure R across 2021 to 2024. The front caliper of the same bike takes AGPA96, and no Accossato disc is catalogued for this model. Compare the pad outlines before fitting.
